Bright and Merry CARDS that CARE

Just wanted to show off a couple more cards I made for the Cards that Care  card drive. They are collecting holiday cards for the elderly in nursing homes. For all the info on sending in cards, you can go HERE. All cards need to be sent in by 11/30. I am getting a big batch in the mail today. I loved doing them and it really got me in the mood for Christmas. Now, I just need to start making my own Christmas cards!!!
I think this is possibly my favorite card out of the bunch I made and the easiest. Frosty the Snowman with his buttons bedazzled... I think it made him bright and merry!

And, following up that one, is this Christmas Ball cut out of some pretty Christmas card stock paper and a add a little lime ribbon and a lime sentiment and look what we've got:

Missing My College Girls!

For Jennifer...cause I miss her so much! I can't wait to see what she writes on her blackboards. They still use blackboards in schoolrooms, right?

And this is for our other college daughter, Kate. She will be 22 next Monday. I saw this paper and fell in love with it. Stripes and swirls with some splashes mixed in...I just love all the changes in it. It reminds me a lot of Kate.

Embellish Color Challenge!

So, I decided to enter this challenge, an Embellish Color Challenge. I just love the colors and loved highlighting them in the card. I don't know why, but navy card stock is one of my favorites. It's just so rich. The picture could never do the color justice. Take a peek!

Navy, burgundy, craft, and green. Oh, and leaves! We had to include leaves in the card!

I'm using Night of Navy and Lucky Limeade card stock.  I used burgundy and craft colored thin ribbons. My sentiment is Seasonal Sentiments from Stampin Up. The stamps I used for the leaves are French Foliage from SU. On the navy card stock I used versa mark and on the Lucky Limeade I used Kraft Pro gold embossing powder.

Again, love the colors! It was fun to pull them all together. Wish me luck!

I Couldn't Sleep at All Last Night...CARDS THAT CARE

I had so many things going through my head that I just decided to go downstairs and stamp for awhile... two hours, three cards for the "Cards that Care" project and two other cards later...
This just reminds me of how heavy the Christmas balls are and how they weigh down the branches. I embossed the ball with glitter and the cap on the ball is embossed with silver. I also stamped one extra branch out on card stock and popped it out on the card...I had to have a place to hang my decoration!

Oh, such an easy card. I made a strip of bird cages on my cuttlebug and trimmed it with a piece of real red ribbon. I stamped "Merry Christmas" and the two little birds that escaped with SU Real Red.

I used an embossing folder on the black card stock to get these great Christmas greetings on this card. Then I decided to use the brayer and the white pigment ink to bring out the words. They showed up a grayish light blue. I could have gone over it another time, but I liked how it looked. I added a die cut snow flake with a silver brad and another greeting.

Personally, I think it's too early for Christmas (what happened to Thanksgiving?!) but the women running "Cards That Care" need them early and I figured it was for a good cause, so here they are!

Boy card!

I like this card because I think it could go either way. I am giving it to my brother-in-law but I think you could easily give it to a girl too! I put sparkles on the icing and on the cupcake liner... and it just made me want to go have a cupcake!

So today I started making holiday cards. I made three cards and I liked this one the best. I have had this stamp for forever but it's so cute! I embossed it and added the silver snowflakes. I stamped the white card with Real Red from SU to match the Real Red cardstock.

Card ideas

Coming up with card ideas...

I made this card using a white chalk ink pad and a white pigment pad. I also embossed the sentiment in black. It came out looking very soft.  It's funny, this is the second time this week I saw a shirt that gave me an idea for a card.

This card was just so easy to make.  I have a sweater with flowers on it just like this and I thought it would make a pretty little card. I used the same set of Stampin Up stamps as the card above. My sister's birthday is next week... she will be getting this bunch of flowers in the mail!

It's your birthday!

It took me a few cards to make the perfect birthday card for my good friend. But each card just didn't seem to fit her. This one is a negative die cut.

This one is also a negative die cut. I just used patterned paper for the cut instead and  used SU Rich Razzleberry Stamp pad and a ribbon to match.

Than I made this card. She is a quilter and I had known I would eventually use this paper to make a card with some kind of idea like this...

I was really happy with how it turned out. Each piece is raised off the piece underneath it - three layers. And it doesn't show up but I embossed the birthday message with some glitter.  We had a nice lunch together and shared some laughs.
