Three's a crowd... a card for {Freshly Made} Sketches #23

There is a new challenge from {Freshly Made Sketches} and this is the sketch:

\

I like entering their challenges because it forces me to work on different ways of making cards. It is really a great way to hone your skills. Or, in my case, get some skills. I made my card with three little onesies and than I wanted to adapt a greeting for the three onesies. That is why I popped up the "s" after the word baby.  Here is my card:

I popped up each outfit and ran twine behind them.

Color with Just Us Girls #124

As luck would have it, I just so happen to have a ribbon in the very colors that Just Us Girls are using in their challenge this week. So I decided to enter Color with Just Us Girls #124! with this card...

I love the colors that Just Us Girls picked. It just screams spring!

Little teal bling for the eyes...

...and I popped up the teal card stock on the yellow card stock. And I did the same with the sentiment on the white card stock.

I just got these little chicks from WPlus9 and I can't use them enough!

RIC Card Three

Here is one more card for ric#5 - Honor Spring 2012. These Runway Challenges are such a great way to think outside the box. I just love the colors in this challenge so I thought this third might be the charm. My sister will be celebrating her 25th anniversary so I thought this was the perfect excuse to make one more card. (Like I need an excuse for making a card) I made little pleats with my scorer in the blue card stock (blind date - I just love this color, it has the slightest sparkle in it...good for a blind date!) And, I found this tissue paper today that had little square patterns in it and I thought I just had to make one more card just so I could use this tissue paper for the top.

This is the inspiration for my card. The top is so sheer, like this tissue paper. If you look closely at my tissue paper you can see the faint lines on it. It is such pretty paper. This blouse is probably very delicate, also.

Going to the Chapel...

Oh, I am loving the DT's card at Freshly Made Sketches! So the newest challenge is

Freshly Made Sketch #22- by Jennifer Timko. Jennifer gave this sketch to follow:

and this is what I came up with:

"To have and to hold from this day forward... " I love this stamp. I embossed it with white embossing powder on black card stock and trimmed it with black and white ribbon. I used gold embossing powder for the bide and groom and then I cut the stamp out twice to give the couple a 3-d effect (Her skirt has a layered look). A little silver, white, black, and gold bling and the card is ready for the newlyweds.

The Lollipop Ladies Challenge

This card has a whole lot of bling going on... but I wanted it to be sparkly. It is for "The Lollipop Ladies" and their Challenge #38 - Fairybread challenge. I just came upon it today and I can never resist sprinkles!

Fighting the setting sun here. The colors are some of the nice greens from Stampin' Up.

Runway Inspired Challenge #5 - Card One

Today I'm putting up a few cards for a brand new Runway Inspired Challenge.  The inspiration photo is from Honor's Spring 2012 Collection:

As soon as I saw her blouse I thought ...vellum, embossing, soft blue, squares yet, circles, and shimmery....
I made two cards the very next day (into the night...uh oh) but I never got to putting them up till today. Love, love, love this outfit. Only wish I could look this adorable in it!

CARD ONE:

This card was a bit tricky because the mosaic was actually two half circles, back to back. I had to match the circles as I came down the card with the Versa Mark. I love the stamp because it has so much detail. It is the first time I have used it...I'll be going back for more.

Card One:
Jim Holtz Distress Ink - Faded Jeans with Perfect Pearls Mist
Stamps - Hero Arts Antique Mosaic 2 1/4 stamp, repeated
Recollections  I wish you faith...
Ranger Embossing Powder - White
David Tutera Bridal Collection Rhinestones
Card Stock SU - Whisper White
Vellum

Runway Inspired Challenge #5 - Card Two

Today I'm putting up a second card for the Runway Inspired Challenge.

CARD TWO:

As with the second picture of my first card, I lifted up the vellum to show the detail of the stamp. On this card I used cream card stock and embossed the stamp and than had to piece it together. The stamp is actually two half circles, making it a bit tricky to use. And it actually is pretty cool that it is pieced together. It kind of adds to going along with the model's blouse, the separate squares.

I swore I wouldn't make a card today...just this one!

I wanted to enter this challenge because I saw it last night.  It is  Freshly Made Sketches. I am down to the wire to get it up by 12 noon. I was ready to post it than saw that the sketch showed the sentiment on the left side... not sure if this would of made a difference so I had to retake the picture.

So... thanks for looking at my pictures at

"We're Going Long" this week at Freshly Made Sketches!

Ugh...I rushed to submit this and I see they are on PST. Whew - I had three more hours left. This is the card with the sentiment were I would probably think it might look better. So, as luck would have it, I am still going to use it in another challenge.  I'll use it at Market Street Stamps for my second card in Paint the Town Challenge!

Doggie dog world!

I promise you that I did not put this on her nose. She sleeps under my craft table while I work. And she also just pokes around under there...why, I don't know. Maybe hoping this will happen to her one day...

Even the picture looks fake! Haha. It did happen. I laughed when she looked at me. I had to get her to sit still so I could take her picture. She is such a sweetheart!

Market Street Stamps Paint the Town

Fun! Market Street Stamps is doing a Paint the Town Challenge!

What a talented group of ladies over at MSS. I love how they took these colors and made such great cards. Neat, neat, neat! So now the challenge is for me to do the same. As I was making this card other ideas were coming to mind so I think I will be adding another card to this challenge. Yellow can be a bit hard to stamp with, but my next card I will use my paper. I have some great paper with yellow in it. I guess that is why they call it a challenge.

SU ink pads - Daffodil Delight - Crumb Cake
SU cardstock - Whisper White - Crumb Cake - Daffodil Delight
Slice Machine - seasonal card 2" and 3" bird
Orangey-red ribbon and orange/white twine

"Less is More" Challenge

I am wishing a Happy Birthday and joining in on the challenge at "Less is More".  The challenge is to use the color AQUA. The challenge is "Week 53 Colour"  if you want to play along! I love the color and so it wasn't a struggle to use it. However, keeping my itchy fingers off of other colors was the challenge...

I put the two gems to represent two people. Yet, I put a single heart in the middle to represent them coming together as one in their fairytale...

Such a fun challenge!

Lucky to have such a good friend!

Hi. I made this card for Ginny. She has been such a good friend to me, I thought about putting the word friend on the card (I used my Slice machine - Seasonal Card) but it didn't look right. I really think it probably looked just fine but it didn't feel right cause she is my friend but I wanted her to know that (haha - I am getting a little teary eyed here) I love her. She is the best friend anyone could have. I have been through some things in the past year and she has been so good to me. Nothing but LOVE for Ginny!

Slice seasonal card - "love" 1.5" ->i think  "heart" 3" shadowed

This week's CASual Fridays challenge theme is "On the Red Carpet" - cards must be made using inspiration from the movies!  The winner this week will win a spot as a guest designer for CASual Fridays!

All week I have been humming the song "Love is in the Air" from the movie "Strictly Ballroom".  Paste this in your search and look at them dance to the song on youtube... you will love it --- http://youtu.be/GQ0tKl1kAwM
For us older folk paste this one in ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2-VGDF4y18 and close your eyes and listen to Tom Jones sing it!!!!
Technically, I might have been inspired by Tom Jones with all my hearts up in the air instead of lovely ballroom dancers!

A little stress with the distressed inks - CAS day 5

I always loved watercolors...

This online class is my kind of school. I've only finnished my fifth class and I am loving taking it in at my own pace. Class five there happened to be lots of different info and a video by Jennifer McGuire. She demonstrated how to use watercolors with a blocking technique. Loved all that I saw but didn't own any of the things I saw. I was willing to go buy the stuff but my good friend offered to share her "goodies" with me!!! This worked out so well because she re-taught me how to get the hang of this. I used the Distress Inks in Wild Honey, Peeled Paint, and Faded Jeans and stamped on to watercolor paper. The embossed stamps were WPlus9 medallions and the sentiment from the same set.  I stamped the sentiment on white card stock, used a square punch on the one end (just like we learned!) to make it look so nice, popped it up off the card, and added the bling to match the watercolors.

I really liked this type of card and can't wait to try it again. I'll have to sneak in to my girlfriend's basement while she is at work.... LOL

Thank you for all your help!

BUT WAIT --- there's more...

I have also decided to enter this card in a challenge. It has to follow this sketch for the Young Crafters Unite challenge.  I happened upon YOUNG CRAFTERS UNITE! while jumping around everyone's blogs. It is a cool blog, I love the style of their challenges, and Simon says Stamp sponsors their challenges.  It's ALL good. :-)
Wish me luck!
